How to find an electrical disturbance in 1998 ford expedition

Normally this condition is the result of a poor body ground connection. Testing for this can be deceiving. At the static(nothing on) condition, testing can show a good ground. However when a circuit is excited, it has a determined resistance and a set current flow. If the ground connection to this or a branch circuit is loose, corroded, or broken wire. This will allow just enough connection to show as being good, but not good enough to complete the circuit with the required amount of connection when energized.

I have no power at all when the key is in , no light in the dash nothing

Do you have headlights with the headlight switch on? That would eliminate a battery connection problem. If things like headlights and brake lights work, one should next check that power is getting to the ignition switch. If you pull the connector under the dash off for the ignition switch, there should be a hot-at-all-times wire going to the ignition switch. Check with a test light or voltmeter. If no power to the switch, back to the fuse box by the battery-an ignition fuse may have blown. If power is available to the switch, suspect a bad ignition switch.

1987 toyota pickup lost all electrical except headlights

What works? Just headlights? Does anything electrical work that does not need the ignition switch to be in the on position? Possibly four way flashers, brake lights, horn, interior light, dash lights in instrument panel as well as headlights should all work without the key in the ignition and in the acc or on position. If this is what you have, then I would say you need to replace the ignition switch.
Hope this helps.

Cant find the fuse to the dash lights

The dash lights have to go through the headlight switch and then through the ignition then through a fusible link (wire) underneath the wrapping of the wire bundle leading to the ignition or battery. I recommend starting by removing the headlight switch or turning the dial on it to turn up the dimming. Look behing the headlight switch and look for an overheated melted harness etc. Also test the switch with a multimeter (continuity tester). If that is ok then proceed to the ignition (ignitions usually fail when a car is 10 to 15 years old). if that is ok then look for your fusible link.

Put a new battery, starter, and solenoid on the truck. It still won't crank.

You have a bad fuse or ignition switch. If you turn on the headlights and try to turn ignition do the headlights dimmer? If the do the ignition switch is probably good and you hav a bad or loose wire somewhere, If the headlights don't dim the I would suspect the ignition switch. Let me know if you need more info.

1991 honda accord ex headlight problems

Hello, firstly I was wondering if the lights shut off when you pull the switch off the harness?
If YES, then THAT switch or wiring could be bad
if NO, then it's most likely the body control module
