Car shakes side to side

Does worse when driving but still does it just less when not moving. it could do it going 5 miles and hr and stop when it gets faster or it could get worse when i pick up speed or sometimes it doesnt shake at all but usually it does and car also pulls to the left when your not holding the steering wheel straight. my car has always had a little shake to it since i got it 2 yrs ago but its different now. i was looking it up online and it keeps coming up with it being that i need to get an alignment but i would like to make sure or at least have another opinion

If you've had this or a similar problem for two years the car is well overdue for a visit to the auto doctor. If it had been fixed early, it would probably have been cheaper than it will be now. The one problem may have grown into two or three by now.

SOURCE: When i drive, it feels like i have little control while the steering wheel feels loose. I also have to turn my steering wheel about 15degrees to the left to go straight. Any ideas?

Sounds as if you have bent some control arms Or even broken the steering gear rack both front wheels must be off the ground to ***** the situation The best way to recognize a bent part if you are not familiar with it is to compare to the opposite side

There are many moving things. Usually the opposite side is bad because the inside wheel is turning less than the outside wheel on turns. It can be a CV joint, loose or worn brake caliper, and even the Emergency brake lining.

Car was vibrating slightly when idling or accelerating. Took it to a repair shop and it was diagnosed as cylinder misfire. I had 2 cylinders replaced. When driving home after picking it up, there was...

If you have 25 miles to drive with that serious missfiring going on, I would first try to find a repair shop closer to you. It need not be a Volvo shop. Failing that, I would have it towed. Since the towing distance may be greater than 5 miles, investigate joining a road hazard protection program first (like AAA or others). Once signed up, then have it towed under the new protection. I think you will find it cost effective to do that rather than just calling a tow truck.

Jeep front end shakes badly when driving down the highway at speeds of 45 miles an hour to 55 miles an hour. The whole front end, tires shift from side to side, almost coming out from under the front end...

Bent rods....Okay...first thing...did you hit anything or or run over anything? Second, did you go off-roading....

It could be a few things....some easy and some expensive...but need to know what you have done with the Jeep first.

Steering wheel violently shakes.

that is usually caused by bad engine mount this condition usually changes the distance of the cv joint and the differential which cause the cv joint to shake. also check your ball joints.

2004 Ford F-150, random thumping/jumping in front end

I have several comments. Because you mentioned 55MPH, this is a "cam phaser" engine and the part called a "cam phaser" stops affecting the engine from about 1200rpm to 2000rpm. The bad effects cause engine shaking and rough drive-train effects and when you stop the truck it will run smooth again.

The ideal test would be for you to coast at 55mph or when the shaking starts and go downhill to maintain speed. By putting the truck into neutral, you eliminate the motor problem and if the problem persists it is a tire, brake, or suspension problem.

You can have play in the tie-rod ends. I have noticed with Ford brakes that overnight rust can cause parallel rust spots where the brake pad contacts the rotor while the truck is parked. Until these rust mounds wear off, the shaking can be worse if the rust spots run parallel to each side. Some brake material is worse than others to cause this problem.

Bad belts or bent rims can magnify when both tires hit their low spots at the same time. You do have a spare which could be put on the front one at a time to see if you can find the bad wheel.

Bad hub bearings can cause this problem. Check for recalls. We had a leased Explorer with under 10,000 miles and it needed both hubs replaced for defects. You indicate you have less than 36,000 miles, a warranty threshold.
