Question about 1999 Acura TL

Airconditioner stop working

Acura TL 1999

The blower inside the car is working fine.

I am pretty sure that the airconditioner compressor is not engaging.

There are two fans in front of the radiator. Only one of them turn on. The one that is working is the one that is closest to the battery.

For the fan that is not working, I measured 5 volts when the working fan is operating.

Any suggestions as to why the compress is not working. There is not cool air.
Thanks

The problem turned out to be a blown fuse. The fuse was for both the airconditioner clutch and the one fan that is engaged by the airconditioner circuit.

I am wondering if a blown fuse is a sign of parts becoming bad. Or do fuses just blowout once in a while. The fuse I replaced is a 20Amp fuse. Those fan probably have high startup current. Maybe putting some stress on the fuse.

Most common cause is that your A/C system is low on R134a and needs to be recharged. All A/C system has small leaks through O ring's ect. Once the pressure is to low in the system, the clutch will not operate to keep it from burning out. The R134a is mixed with compressor oil to keep the compressor cooled and from seizing up. You can buy a recharge kit with the gauge at Auto Zone or Wal mart for just under $50.00, That includes two cans of R134a and the hose with the gauge, just follow the instruction. If the A/C works after recharging and stop's working again within 2 weeks then there is a large leak that needs to be addressed before the next refill. Good luck and hope this helps, before you go through all that check the fuses. good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

There's a good chance that your A/C compressor clutch may be on it's way out.

Airconditioner will not work

Defective compressor clutch, or ground fault in the ac switch circuit.
Disconnect lead to compressor from ac switch.
Run a fused line from the battery to the compressor, if it works without blowing the fuse, check for fault in the AC switch circuit.

Airconditioner cooling not workign despite three

I would check the system pressure. You can buy a leak detector. I would check all the fittings on the lines, around the compressor, condenser, and evaporator.

My 1988 toyota camry: airconditioner/heat doesn't work

The heater may not work because of a bad thermostat, low coolant, or a bad sensor at the engine. It can also be a bad resistor valve under the dash. The resistor valve is connected to a wire plug on the blower motor under the dashboard. It needs to be replaced. Th AC may need to be refilled with refrigerant or the compressor may be bad.

Acura tl A/C stops working from time to time

There appears to be a dirty connection for the Interior Blower. When the Blower stopsdue to a circuit interuption this automatically disengages the A/c Compressor. My suggestion is remove any fuse and relay connected with the blower. Make sure the reinstallation is good. If no response, go to the blower motor multipin connector, do the same.Allthese items are located in Circuit boxes on the vehicle. Use the premis, what should it do, and why not.

Airconditioner will not cool when vehicle is idling. But does cool when vehicle is accelerating.

the compression of your compressor is getting low. there are leaky valves that is why only at high speed the compressor would work right.

is you compressor noisy? that is a sign of a bad compressor.

tnx 4 using fixya,
