Question about 2003 Cadillac CTS
Usually says that when the gas cap has a tiny leak and air is getting into the tank during operation. It could be you just need to tighten it or you may need to replace it altogether. It makes a difference with your fuel milage and emissions (general running of the vehicle) due to the fuel to air and spark mixture of ignition. You may not readily notice the difference but it is there (emission testing has proven it).
