Have a 2001 pontiac aztec i change fuel pump but still giving problems put in the computer give me p0102 and p1189 replaced them still the same whats next

P0102 - The mass air flow (MAF) sensor is an air flow meter that measures the amount of air entering the engine. The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the MAF sensor signal in order to provide the correct fuel delivery for a wide range of engine speeds and loads. A small quantity of air entering the engine indicates deceleration or idle. A large quantity of air entering the engine indicates an acceleration or high load situation. The MAF sensor has an ignition 1 voltage circuit, a ground circuit, and a signal circuit. The PCM applies a voltage to the sensor on the signal circuit. The sensor uses the voltage in order to produce a frequency based on inlet air flow through the sensor bore. The frequency will vary within a range of around 2,000 Hertz at idle to about 10,000 Hertz at maximum engine load. DTC P0102 will set if the PCM detects a frequency signal lower than the possible range of a normally operating MAF sensor.
Sounds like you need a mass air flow sensor , but take it to a ASE certified repair shop an have it check , instead of just replacing it.
DTC P1189
The engine oil pressure switch is a normally closed switch that opens with the proper oil pressure. With the ignition switch turned ON and the engine not running, the PCM should detect a low signal voltage input. With the engine running, the pressure switch opens, and the PCM should detect a high signal voltage input. The PCM tests the state of the engine oil pressure circuit with the ignition switch turned ON, and the engine turned OFF. If the PCM detects a high voltage input on the engine oil pressure signal circuit, DTC P1189 will set.

Pontiac grand am I had a diagnostic reading at autozone for diagnostic codes po128,po440 and p1189 don't know what they mean for a 2003 Pontiac grand am gt 3.4 liter and v6 engine vehical

PO128 -- engine coolant low or thermostat not working
P0440 - EVAP system malfunction, gas cap loose - Cat convertors missing from car can cause this
P1189 - Engine Oil Pressure Switch Circuit -- CAT CONVERTORS MISSING FROM CAR can cause this.

ENGINE CODE P1189 2002 MONTE CARLO

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P1189

Description: "Oil Pressure Switch Signal Voltage Is High"

The engine oil pressure switch closes when there is low oil pressure, making the sensor signal voltage low. The switch opens when the oil pressure is above 4.5 Psi, making the sensor circuit voltage high. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the oil pressure switch and sends a class 2 message to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to tell it if the switch is open or closed. DTC1189 is set when the PCM determines that the sensor signal circuit is high with the ignition switch in the RUN position for more than 10 seconds.

Both the PCM and IPC must be scanned and the data must be checked and verified before the actual cause of this code can be accurately determined. This can be caused by a number of different things including: low engine oil pressure, a malfunctioning oil pressure switch, broken wires or bad connectors, or a defective IPC or ECM.

P1189

P1189 = Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) Switch Circuit

With the GA, the OP 'low pressure' (below about 8 psi) disables the Fuel PUMP

Also check Fuse #37 (AC compressor) which has some wierd subcircuits that can cause this condition.

I have a code p1189 come up on a computer when the

P1189 Engine Oil Pressure Switch Circuit

The problem is the car does not have the Catalytic converter. You should have a check engine light for the lack of Catalytic converter since there should be a O2 sensor back there monitoring the exhaust system. The leak of Catalytic converter will also drop your back pressure which the new engines need to run 100%. Without the proper back pressure, it throws off the MAP sensor readings and is causing a conflict in your engine's management parameters. You can get an aftermarket Cat for under $80.00. Good luck and keep me posted.
