Question about Isuzu Hombre
60 to 70 percent loss of power, can't get enough rpm's to get to 5th gear, standard trans, runs better cold, runs real bad when warm, speedometer does not work, hooked up to diagnostic at Auto Zone says speed sensor bad. Could that cause all these problems?
It's very possible that your speed sensor is the root cause of all or most of your stated problems. The speed sensor is involved in many of the operations of the electronic engine control system. It would be worth the effort to replace the speed sensor with a new one, reset your EEC computer, and see what improves!

If not, you have no access to the sensor.
This prosses require about 3.5 hour labor.

SOURCE: 1997 isuzu wizard mu check light
Code 24 is a vehicle speed signal sensor fault, the sensor most likely does not provide a useable signal until about 25 MPH, when the computer doesn't see any signal after that speed it turns on the light. Make sense?

Either you have a broken wire some where from the speed sensor to the cluster or you have connector at fault, the one which hookup the dash cluster to the main wire bundel. Check the connector, maybe a pushed back pin !!
