I have never had the privelage to work on a BMW but I am assuming they are assembled in a similar manner to most other modern cars so if you look directly behind the mirror on the inside there should be a plastic cover which hides the mounting bolts for the mirror.
The cover should just unclip without too much pressure.
There will be some wires coming from the back of the mirror which will have to be removed before removing the mirror. You should see a plastic block which the wires go into, seperate the blocks, remove the bolts and remove the mirror.
I hope this has helped or is reasonably close to what I am telling you

How do I troubleshoot x3 2007 sideview mirror

If one side works and the other doesn't it not the switch. Wires usually break in the door jam. At the front of the door while opened, there is a rubber boot that holds the wires for the door. If a wire is broke, it would be there. The other is the motor in the mirror died. You would have to replace the entire mirror to fix it. You can have it checked with a scanner under body control module/ functions.

How to close sunroof panel for BMW x3

1. Remove the panel above your centre rear view mirror.
(this is described in your cars owner manual)

2. When your rear sunroof is open, in the oppening gap you can see the control carriage. There is one Left and Right.

3. Take a screw driver and push both carriages backwards (use some but not extreme force). Possibly you can move one side and not the other, this is the symptom of the defect.

4. Take your (on board) hex wrench tool, put in the hex hole of the motor above your rear view mirror.

5. Manually close the roof.

take care to do this correctly.
Hope this helps

Hello. This is due to a poor paint job at the factory. Begin at the dealership and see what if anything will be done. You may still be under warranty. Joje

I have a light on that says passenger side airbag off? how do i resolve this problem? i drive a Bmw x3 oi

some x3 cars have a "lock" that you can turn off/on the airbag on the passenger side for a frontseat baby carrier.you might find it inside the glovebox or on the side of the dash.also some (that dont have the switch, but the previous owner has has had the bag disconnected by the dealer)may need to have a dealer reactivate the bag.(in England its inside the glovebox)

sounds like a short between the mirror control wire and the passenger side unlock wire, probably the wires have rubbed trough the insulation, you have to locate the wires and put some insulation tape on the spot they have rubbed trough,
