It should be behind the glove box which you have to remove to get access to the filter door. Is the CD changer directly behind the glove box ? Because in my car the changer is above the main part of the box, not behind it.
Hello my name is Ben. I have had 2 of these cars and they both worked the same. Once you load the cartridge with your CDs and insert the cartridge into changer and close that little door on the changer the rest is automatic. On the dash you will see two buttons to the left of the radio display. One says TAPE AUX. That is the button that switches from radio to the CD changer. Push the TAPE AUX button and the CD changer will play whichever CD is selected. The PREV button if pressed during the first 8 seconds of a song will go to the previous song, if PREV is pressed after 8 seconds it will go to the beginning of the song. The PROG button will go to the next CD. The NEXT button will go to the next song on the CD you are playing. The REV and FWD allow you to quickly move within a song, either forward or backward. If you have any other questions, just ask, I have the owners manual readily available. I know it should be in the car, LOL
I know you can that you can change this by simply hooking up a scan tool for specific year. There are language options accessible for situations like this. Here is a sample of what can be changed using VAG 5052 or equivalent scanners.

behind the facia of the display is a reset button, try that, if not pull unit out and disconect, reconect and listen for a whirring sound, try with ign on , then check if no noise that you have a feed on the live and memory (red & Yellow) yellow normaly is live all times then check the connector from the main unit is good to the changer, then check for any fuses in the rear of each unit, I am assuming they are split units not one piece if no whirring then the cd changer is us
no u will need to send the deck in for repair, the dealer doesn't sell any parts to repair the deck to the public, only authorized repair stations, the problem is the CD loading mecnanism has a broken part.
