It is under the thermostat housing at the engine end of the top hose.

Locate water pump and thermostat on a 96 Lincoln continental?


Water pump is in the middle of the motor on the passenger side of a front wheel drive (big pulley beside alternator). The thermostat should be at the driver side of motor ( follow the top hose from the radiator to the connection at motor) that will be the thermostat housing!

The rear heater blows cold air and front does not blow at all. The only place that warm air comes out, is the defroster vents on the dash by the windshield. It actually warms the entire vehicle, but n


i hadsimale problems on my taho the ac wul not blow cold n the back only the heater would blow and the front would not blow i had to chang the front blower motor and the blower motoer relay in the back every thing is on the top of the rt pass wheel hump swap them out there the same parts to see what broke hat stuf is expencive hope this helps

Thermostat - 3.0L (2V) Removal and Installation
  1. Partially drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
  2. Remove the three thermostat housing bolts. Fig. 25: Removing Thermostat Housing Bolts

  3. Remove the thermostat O-ring seal.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  3. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .

  5. Lower the vehicle.

My diesel engine indicates a very high temperature gauge despite that it was recently change the oil, and replace the water and coolant, and replace the suspected temperature sending unit. it is still...


It sounds like your thermostat could be stuck. The thermostat is located inside the upper radiator hose where it connects to the front of the motor. It can be removed to check if that is the problem. Undo the clamp on the upper radiator hose where it attaches on the top front of the motor and pull off the hose. You will see the round thermostat in the "neck" where the hose was mounted. Remove it with a screwdriver. Put the hose back on and clamp it tight. Fill your radiator back up to replace the water you have lost when undoing the radiator hose. Once the water level is full, start the motor and see if it still overheats. If it runs properly without overheating, the problem was the thermostat. Get a new thermostat and replace it where the old one was taken out. Make sure it is reinstalled in the right direction as there is a backwards and forwards on these.

Heater does not work


The heater not working.This problem is related to few possibilities 1) The thermostat can be faulty. 2) the heater blower motor resistor is faulty 3) The heater blower motor it self is faulty. ------------ The The blower resistor is behind glove-box on plenum.Connect the 12 volt battery directly to the heater blower motor and see,if the motor runs then its faulty resistor or thermostat.but if no motor running then its faulty motor. The thermostat is located at the top front of the engine.For easy access follow the top radiator hose.The top radiator hose goes in engine .Take that hose out and thermostat will be seen inside. --------- The thermostat and resistor are not very costly part.So you can directly replace them and see if its helping.First confirm motor is working,by directly by passing the blower motor to 12 volt battery. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Where is the Thermostat for a Volkswagon Jetta?


1.8, 1.9, 2.0 L

Looking the the motor from the belt straight on, to the right there's a long coolant flange that comes out of the side of the block. Remove it and VOILA !!

Thermostat housing is attached to the back of the long coolant piping in the front of the car

Front blower is out for heat and air,back works fine


Have the front heater core flushed ,since there is heat to the rear the thermostat is fine so it could be plugged.If the fan works on no speeds the check the fuse for the heater fan,if it's good you neerd a blower motor.

Heater blows hot and cold and fan motor runs alot more than norm


The thermostat is in the water pump on these motors(front middle of motor). Follow the radiator hose. There are two bolts to remove then the thermostat pulls out.
