You need to take the car back to the place that did the exhaust work. What you are hearing is the exhaust system (pipe, muffler, etc.) touching the underside of the car. The exhaust system is mounted along the underside of the car with exhaust hangers (usually made of rubber) also called insulators. The reason you don't hear it when going is because when you step on the gas the engine torques causing the exhaust system to move away from what it is touching.

Oh your not a "dumb" girl. Your tires may just be bad and need to be replaced, the tires could have what they call belt separation and that's when the steel belt in the tires are bad and the tires can no longer keep there shape. Check the tire pressure and make sure there at the right PSI which is posted in your drivers door panel and on the tires it self. The other thing to is you may have abd engine mount and the engine will shake causing the vibration to get worst at higher speeds and also the rims it self could be warped by hitting big pot holes at high speed. These are just the simple things to start with, so lets Recap: inspect the tires for conditions and air pressure, the wheels to make sure there are no cracks or any damages, and check the engine mounts. You can check the engine mounts with a friend, open the hood and have your friend stand to the side as you put the car in to drive and then revers and ask your friend if the engine is moving too much. There will be movement but not like the engine wants to come out and shake you hands,
Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have and hope we can get your car running 100%
