Maruti Alto is the Indian-built version?????????????????
i see you lost that vital operators guide in the glove box.
as it tells you all the names there.
buy one, and read all warnings and never do's stated in this guide.
my only clue is orange, now that makes this hard.
which engine?
796 cc (0.8 L) F8D I3 (petrol)
998 cc (1.0 L) K10B I3 (petrol)
1,061 cc (1.1 L) F10D I4 (petrol)

here are some symbols. can you find it here.

why not got to SUZUKI and get your lost manual.
the operators guide, defines the lamps, in all countries sold.
and can in fact vary by country and engine options.

You need to refer yo your owners manual, It is a WARNING light, your dealer can tell you the problem for free but fixing it is a different issue

the first thing you should do is check the fuses, if it is ok, maybe the sensors need replaced.

Warning light appeared this morning...small orange light with an explanation mark beside it. Looked like a tyre so I put air in tyre and light went off!! But cannot find my manual to check that I was...

You did right ... You can probably purchase the manual from Ford. See your dealer for best results ... of course you can probably find it on line as well.

Thanks for using FixYa.com

Orange warning light on 156 sportswagon alfa...only bought car...the orange icon looks like a box with a cap??? 2002 sportswagon 2.4 diesel

That orange light icon that looks like a cap is the immobilizer sign and that means. Unfortunately this is common in these models and the best option is to get it diagnosed by a specialist before doing anything else or before the car stops on the road.

A square picture with a wave under the box came on the dash in orange color. It is a warning of what?

Sounds like its the low coolant light. Check your coolant level. You may have to let the engine fully cool off(4 hours +) and check it in the radiator depending on the year of your car.
