SOURCE: driving and all of sudden it acts like it is not getting any fuel. I have already replaced fuel pump and fuel filter.

which engine, G16a or B, 8valve or 16, TBI or MPI injected x4

the two engines work totally different EFI wise !!!

ok it stalls, but you fail to say, did it restart, and if it did

does it idle, and if it has full power up hills,?

is the spit and sputter full time or just under certain conditions.

acts like, so that be bogging, total power loss right?

if its misfiring, that is something different and violant.

x2 fuel rail pressure are key.

there are 2 numbers (i own 4 cars like this so have 100% full docs on it )

I\'ll roll the disc and land on usa G16b (after all carbs run up to 2001 in other countries, not stated either .

so is MPI the spec. on rail for the MPI is

reft:101

http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/pump.html

keyon:no started::: 36-43 PSI

idle. 30 to 37psi (using real gauge not guessing !!!)

wide open throttle. add 6 PSI to idle pressure, if not regulator is bad.

if that tests, passes, there is no reason to fool with pump or reg.

period.

my guess is its misfiring, ever do a full tuneup

ever to a compression test, its and old engine, and this is 1st in our shop, we dont spend big bucks throwing parts on dead engines. un less love struck. LOL\'

is it bogging

is it misfiring

is the CEL lamp glowing one, it must

does the diag, jumper make Cel FLASH 12\'S IT MUST

Is it flooding, spark soaked

is the cam belt over 60,000 miles, it slipped and compression

will not be 170psi it will be like 80, (retarded timing)

is spark timing way off, if yes, leave it. and fix cam belt slip.

use any of those words here, in search box

boggine, flooding , misfire.

How to replace fuel pump

Empty fuel tank, support fuel tank, remove straps from tank (you'll probably have to replace those). Remove fuel filler neck from inside fuel door or at tank, drop tank, remove wire clips and fuel lines as necessary, remove fuel pump, put new pump in. Installation is reverse.

Remove and replace electric fuel pump want to know how to replace

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You have to remove the fuel tank to get to it. The fuel pump is a complete assembly including the fuel sending unit. Aprox $250.00 some you can get the pump only and replace the pump on the sending unit aprox $120.00. the unit is held inplace with 6 small boltd. make sure you clean top of tank off befor removing assembly. so dirt does not go into tank. replace seal also.

My car needs a fuel pump,I was told to just replace the fuel tank

Your pump is not compatible with the supercharger pump. The pressure rates are much high for a supercharged engine. Your normally aspirated engine requires less fuel, thus, a smaller capacity pump.

You may want to check under the rear seat to see if there is an access hatch to remove the fuel pump/sending assembly. Then dropping the tank would not be an issue.

I would not suggest putting a used fuel pump into any vehicle. A new one should be available for 50-100 dollars. Also replace the strainer at the base of the fuel pump when you replace the pump.

No fuel from tank to filter

I believe the fuel pump is on the tank, as well as a filter in the tank itself.
  1. I would check for fuses for the fuel pump.
  2. I would check for power to the fuel pump. If there is power to the fuel pump, then the problem is the filter, or a stopped line. If not then replace the fuel pump. Replacing the fuel pump can be tricky, especially if you have a full tank.
  • Lower the tank to the ground.
  • The fuel pump should be on the top of the tank.
  • Remove the wires, and screws holding the fuel pump in the tank.
  • Remove pump from tank.
  • Clean filter in tank, and replace
  • Replace screws and wires.
  • Lift tank back into place, and bolt back in.
