Top up with COOLANT and drive around for a short distance not to far from home and watch the temp gauge and see how the engine drives if temp gauge goes into red stop wait for engine to cool at least an hour then carefully remove coolant cap and check if there is any coolant loss, if temp gauge stays at normal you may be lucky

Vehicle starts and runs beautifully, but after about 10 min. shuts down and will not start. Fuel problem, Overheating, safety feature so won't ruin motor, how to repair?

Might run beautifully but you have to check the thermostat works. Check that the fan cuts in when it should do. Check that your radiator is entirely clear of obstructions. Check that there is no water in your oil .
Failure to tackle overheating at an early stage can cause engine failure.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU BLEW THE HEAD GASKET WHEN YOU FILLED IT UP WITH Water it filled the cylinder and water does not compress so the motor wont turn over.

Why won't my 1999 jeep Cherokee limited V8 4.7 liter stop overheating?

A possibility is the water pump. This is what circulates the water through the engine and back to the radiator for cooling. Water pumps consist of several vanes attached to a rotating shaft. If a few vanes are broken, you'll get reduced water circulation, causing overheating.

I fail to see why you tried to ruin the motor
& may have succeeded

Drive 60 miles AFTER it overheats
Then drive 3 weeks without wondering about
the overheating issue

Someone should take the car away from you

Stupid & then tell the whole world on the internet

Will plain water in radiator ruin my engine?

No it won't ruin your motor but it will boil off and freeze if it freezes ya you will have a big problem the biggest thing other than freezing is plain water is not capable of handling nearly as much heat also can rust ferous metal parts like engine blocks, water pump impellers, steel gaskets etc. Spend the 25 30 buck and put coolant in your car its a lot easier and will give you less headaches than just water. Also if the water does begin to boil off the pressurw in the cooling system will jump causing your radiator cap to move water to the overflow tank or run it right out of the system and low water will cause an overheating condition

Car died, water runs out side of car below timing belt, belt doesn't appear to be broken

Ouch sounds like your water pump is broken. That can be really a bad thing. The belt doesn't have to be broken for the water pump to be ruined. Check your oil... as long as your oil isn't milky looking meaning your car overheated and ruined the heads or seals then you should be okay at getting the water pump (and timing belt as they go hand in hand) replaced.
