Question about 2006 Toyota Corolla

Foglight Wiring Broken

My fog lights don't work in my '06 Corolla XRS. The headlights, daytime running lights, signals, and highbeams work. Took it to Toyota Dealership, they say the foglight wiring is broken and it's like $1100 to fix :@. Is there a foglight wiring diagram somewhere exclusively for the XRS trim??

We have no wiring diagrams so I suggest you ask the dealer for a detailed cost breakdown to see why they want such a large amount of money to fix this problem. Seems very high and I am a retired dealer technician.

SOURCE: i need a wiring diagram for fog lights oem to my toyota

The link below is a Typical fog lamp / driving lamp hookup. Keep in mind that in most states, for these lamps to be 'legal' (and thus pass inspection), you must wire them such that:

1. You can cut them off (in other words, there must be a switch installed to turn them off)

and

2. They may only be operated with the low beams. (therefore, you must power your on/off switch from the low beam circuit)

That tray has been known to break with regularity. Short of replacing it, there really is no other way to repair it. Is it still under warranty? If so, it would be fixed for free.

Low beam headlights sometime will not go on, or go off after using highbeams.

low beam not working could be relay or bad contact at stork control. Fog lights should only work with park lights on. not supposed to be on with headlights like in the movies. This is illeagle in australia to have head lighs and fog lights on together as well as being dangerous to other motorists

You don't have daytime running lights but you do have automatic light control. The design engineers reasoned that you would not need fog lights unless you were running with headlights on under foggy conditions so these functions are controlled by logic and can't be separated without rewiring

Where is the headlight relay on a ford festiva

OK, you're looking at a switch or a relay because although the drl's work, that's a different circuit that's added on after the regular headlights and high beams.

Also, check your fuses and wiring for a problem there.

Foglight switch

It should be located on your signal stalk. On the end of the stalk is the switch to turn on your running lights and headlights. Further in on this stock is the switch to turn on your fog lights

If you have daytime running lights but when you turn on your regular headlight on they do not come on. Take the bottom of your steering column off (Two Small Screws) and look at the back of your turn/dimmer switch make sure that the light blue wire is connected. The wires will break off after years of raising and lowering your steering column.

Headlights alternate on and off left and right daytime/high beam

although the underhood relay panel is common, I'd check your headlamp bulbs first, these are cheaper than the fuse box. The daytime running lights work off the high beam circuit, thus, a blown highbeam bulb could be the culprit, the fusebox solution was more common on 2001 and up modles, although it's a definite possibility.
