SOURCE: how to remove fuel pump from tank s type jag 2002

Fuel pump is accessed through a hole below the back seat. Remove the seat and there is a rubber round cover over each fuel pump. Fuel pumps are held in place with a large round retaining ring that is screwed off.

There is no inlet fuel line, unless you're talking about a fuel line return from the pressure regulator? Or are you talking about the big hose between the fill cap and the tank?

SOURCE: How would I know if the fuel filters are faulty on a 2003 Jaguar S type & how do I replace them. I hear there are 3 fuel filters. Is that true? Please answer soon. Thanks.

Well for the 6 cyl engine there is only one inline filter. As with most all cars with in-tank pumps there is an additional filter or screen in the tank.
If you have zero fuel pressure at the rail, you would disconnect the inline filter and check for fuel pressure there.
The pump could have failed or may not be getting power.

1996 ford f150 front gas tank gauge reads empty but tank is full pump in front tank was replaced about a year ago what could problem be

When pump was replaced, did you also replace sending unit? It is usually a good idea to replace sending unit when replacing pump. The sending unit also "sends" information about the fuel level to your fuel gage. It is also possible the float on the sending unit is stuck in the low fuel or empty position on the sending unit. Although on some vehicles you can replace individual parts of the fuel delivery system, it is usually a good idea to replace all the internal parts of the sending unit assembly at the same time. After all, most fuel tanks can be a real pain to gain access to the inner workings of the fuel delivery system, so why take the chance of having to gain access again.
Good luck.

How do i replace the fuel level sensor on a 2005 kia sorento

What You'll Need:
  • flat head screwdriver
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • hammer
  • open end wrenches
  • replacement fuel tank sending unit
Before you begin, disconnect the negative battery cable to be sure no electrical sparks are possible. You're dealing with gas which is highly flammable!Your fuel tank sending unit is located in the top of the fuel tank, but is accessible under your back seat (or under the carpet in your trunk) on some models. The sending unit will be protected by an access cover, usually held on with a couple of screws. Lift your back seat or trunk carpet and locate the access cover for your fuel tank sending unit. Remove the screws holding the cover in place and remove the access cover to reveal the fuel tank sending unit.
Safety Note: Gasoline is highly flammable. By removing the fuel tank sending unit, you are opening the gas tank. Be sure there are no sources of spark or flame nearby.
With the access cover removed, you'll see the fuel tank sending unit right there on top. It will have a wiring harness plugged into the top (this tells your gas gauge how much fuel is in the tank). Unplug the wiring harness and move it safely to the side. If your fuel tank sending unit is screwed or bolted in place, remove the screws or bolts. Some sending units are a "twist-lock" type. They work like the old twist-lock gas caps. You'll see a few notches along the outer ring of the sending unit. Place the tip of a sturdy flat head screwdriver in the notch and gently tap it counter-clockwise. The sending unit will rotate until it's loose. (the picture above shows the fuel tank out of the car to illustrate the fuel tank sending unit's location). Now you can remove the fuel tank sending unit in one piece. Attached to it is a long rod with a float at the end, so you might have to try a couple of different angles to get it out. As usual, installation is the reverse of removal. Don't forget to plug the new sender in or it won't send you anything!

I have a nissan frontier 2005. code came back P0463. the engine light is on . what can i do

Hello! the problem is a defective Fuel Sending Unit...It does not require replacing the fuel pump assembly which is quite expensive...A dealership will replace the entire unit...All that needs to be replaced is the sending unit...See drawing below...Cost is $30...You can DIY if you have a little experience...It's a difficult job in that the fuel tank needs to be dropped...Included procedure if you intend on DIY...Guru...saailer

1. Jack up driver rear side and remove tire...
2. disconnect electrical lines to tank...
the one electrical line will require two small screwdrivers to undo the clip
3. Remove 3 bolts on the straps that hold the tank in place...
4. Slowly drop gas tank down...(Less gas, lighter tank)...
5. Unclip electrical harness at top of sending unit (do not disconnect the fuel line)...
6. With hammer and screwdriver, spin the locking ring on top to align the locking tabs/grooves and remove... (some spray lube helps)
7. Pull out sending unit completely from tank...
8. The sensor is on the very bottom un-clip 2 harness and it slides off the unit...
9. Replace with new fuel level sensor...
fuel level sending unit part # 25060-zs00a...
10. Follow steps in reverse to assemble back together
and your done...

Gas guage doesnt work

It sounds like a problem with the fuel gauge sender unit in the fuel tank which has worn out and gone open circuit and needs replacing. Access to the unit is usually through a removable plate in the floor in the rear of the vehicle. Disconnect the wiring connector and any hoses and then remove the securing screws. Replacement is done by reversing procedure.
