More than likely your headgasket has blown or may be low on oil get it changed and see if you have the same problem and if so have someone do a compression test or head gasket test

White smoke from passenger side of car after going up a steep hill

Hi Karen:
How's the coolant level? Don't check when it's hot!
White smoke is usually water vapour and that's usually an indication of a failed head gasket.
- If you have access to a mechanically oriented friend, I'd be doing a visual on the spark plugs and also a compression test. That will certainly provide some solid clues.
Definitely worth tracking down!

Going up hill lack of power and smoke pulled over then started to go again didnt do it again on level ground what it might be

It will lack lots of power going up hill, especially if its a really steep one and you keep it in drive. Make sure you downshift to second, or fist if its really steep.

I have a 2006 dodge caravan. sometimes when I'm driving down the highway my air will stop blowing. as I get down the highway it will kick back on. what is wrong?

Chances are your Caravan uses thin plastic vacuum tubes under the hood. When you go up a hill under power or engine brake going down a hill, the engine will rock back and forth in the engine bay. This will sometimes bend (close off) the plastic vacuum lines causing the vent settings to change (even though you did not touch the levers) Either avoid the conditions that cause the problem or just expect it when going fast up a steep hill and live with it... or... change the vacuum lines to the traditional stiff rubber line which should stop the kinking. Stiff rubber vacuum lines should solve the problem. Hope this answers your question.

Uses oil ,no leaks

check for a stuck or gummed up PVC valve,it should rattle when you shake it. check for worn piston rings; with someone observing from behind start at bottom of steep hill accelerate quickly from a stop, if worn rings, blue smoke will be seen from the exhaust.

It just stoped running

Depending on how much gas was in the tank and how steep the hill was, the fuel pump most likely started pumping air instead of gas, thereby stalling the engine.

Power loss on 5.9l gas 1996 dodge ram Help

Have you checked your catalytic converter?  I had this problem with my '96 2500 5.9l on long hills and it was really sluggish on steep hills. I thought it might be the transmission not down shifting but it turned out to be the catalytic converter was clogged.
