Ignition wont turn

if you mean the key won`t turn to start the car you may have a worn key and or ignition switch. try another key to see if its the key. also make sure there is not tension on the ignition by way of the steering wheel being turned in the full left or right turn causing tension on the ignition.

Volvo key won turn

Wrong key? Might be a "dumb" key that fits only the doors but doesn\'t have the "smart" electronics for the ignition switch? Steering wheel jammed to one side?

I just purchased a 2008 Toyota Highlander with the smart key ignition system. How can I prevent being stranded if the smart system won't start the car?

If the smart key battery gets low to where it won't start the car you can hold the smart key with the logo facing the start button close to the button then push it to start the engine.

My 1998 jeep cheorkee engine turns but won't crank, could it be the computer or what?

it's highly unlikely, there are only two things that can make this happen, not getting fuel (fuel pump failure, fuel pump regulator) or not getting ignition (bad coils, ignition module failure, bad distributor, distributor cap, rotor)

I have a 2008 corolla. It has an auto light when the car needs an oil change. I need to know how to reset it.

Look in your owners manual and go to the part that explains the different symbols on your dash. Look for that service reminder and it should tell you what page to go to to learn more about that. Somewhere there should be some wording to the effect that "When you have your car serviced by a certified Toyota dealer they will reset it for you. In the event that someone other does your maintenance then this is the procedure to reset......."

Ignition switch problems

Not trying to be Smart,Are you using the correct key? If so,Try turning the steering wheel from side to side while trying to turn the key. Sometimes the internal locking system will be in a bind and keep the ignition switch from turning.
