Change your camshaft and crankshaft sensor, if that doesn't work your timing chains will be stretched and it will require new chains

Have a citi golf 1.4i 2007 car drives fine but sometimes my ref counter drops & car just cut out,this only happens when i approach a stop street,speed bump or just slowing down it happen when the

check the two main fuses near the battery , take them out, spray contact spray inside & light sand the fuse legs before fitting. also check the ground wire is connected well. Other than that could possibly be map or maf sensor ( same part some call it map some maf) but my bet would be the fuses and or connection

Tcs light flashes and p0340 code


P0340 code means "Something" is wrong in the timing...
from CMP (Camshaft Position sensor) to the crankshaft bolt.

Very first thing, verify connectors are clean and shiny.
clear all codes, even hard codes.

Engine malfunction light on all time drives ok but when stop at traffic lights etc ref counters go down and stalls


IAC problem . You have a problem with you idle air control valve. So when you stop at a stop sign the RPM goes to low and you stall out. IAC controls the desired speed necessary to keep the engine running.where is this sensor at is at the rear of the engine compartment under the thtottle valve. Here is what you need to inspect for. If you have a vacuum leak in you engine system, the IAC cannot compensate or control and you get rough idle. Check any loose vacuum connections .

P0340 is for camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction so the problem can be in you hav already changed sensor, then you need to check wiring from sensor to ecu and if the wires are ok than check the ecu! It can be either of them cousing the problem.

If it does not have a camshaft position sensor, then it either has a crankshaft postion sensor or a distributer.
But why do you care if the idle surges in neutral?
How much is it surging? Surging is usually a sign of a vacuum leak, such as broken hose, etc. Listen for hissing though a length of tubing you hold to your ear, and move around.

Auto choke refs to high


It was a much easier adjustment in the "old" days. I would have a trained tech adjust it.
