local weather conditions and old 02 sensors can cause hi idle
motor idle is controlled by the idle control sensor ( IAC) and can be cleaned
..if solenoid part is faulty ..non adjustable trow away part
try the idle control sensor.is your check engine light on? if you do replace the idle control sensor, make sure you disconnect the positive cable from battery for 10minutes to allow the computer to adapt the new sensor to the system. when reconnected, that check engine will go off. the idle control sensors easily replaced,2bolts 1 plug in before replacing it,disconnect the positive cable on battery, then by the time it's replaced, the system will reset to adapt the new component. look on top of the engine for a round silver component that has one plug in to it. it will be where the air flow goes into the engine. 2bolts. one plug in. replace that. it's the idle control sensor. if you have doubts, take it by autozone or advance auto or wherever you purcahse the part and have the clerk point it out for you. thank you for choosing fixya.com
I would clean or replace the ISC (idle speed control) sensor, this sensor is what controls the idle speed of your engine. The sensor screw in to the side of the throttle body.will have a four wire harness connector going to it.
The throttle position sensor, and the idle air control valve would be my guess at this point.Ohm out the throttle position sensor,to see if it has a dead spot,if so,replace it,if not, replace the idle air control.
