Should be on the upper radiator hose where it mounts onto the motor, if you remove the hose from the engine side you may be able to see the thermostat inside the housing, should be 2 bolts that hold housing in place

Where does the coolant temp sensor go in the 2006 chevy monte carlo

It should be located just below the thermostat housing. Look on the engine where the top radiator hose mounts connects. From the front of the car, look towards the driver's side about two inches below the thermostat. You should see a wiring harness going from the sensor to the exhaust manifold.

Where is ect sensor located on 2006 monte carlo 3.5 engine

The ECT (Engine Coolant Temp sensor) should be located by the coolant thermostat housing or where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. It screws in with a plug or small/short wire harness attached to it. -------------------------------- To replace ect sensor:---
  1. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover, if necessary.
  3. Remove the exhaust crossover.
  4. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor.
