You dont need to reset your ECM to burn premium gas, just add gas, over time the ECM will adjust to octane. May take a tank or 2.

Otherwise there is a fuse , read articel:

Reset the emc on a 2012 camaro 2lt v6 lfx

To reset the PCM to render a more performance program has to be done by an expert. There is nothing substantial you can accomplish with having the means to reflash the PCM. There are many places that do this but I need to know if this is a Celebrity or a Camaro.

Does emc for 2012 camaro v6 lfx have two gas tables & how do reset emc for premium

ECM. And no it does not. the fuel "table" is a timing calibration based on mechanical conditions, primarily valve timing and mechanical compression ratio. Simply reprogramming software doesnt change cam profiles or compression ratio and youd be doing more harm than good. The good news is most modern cars are smart enough to know if they are "pinging" or "knocking" from too low an octane fuel and make adjustments automatically. Go ahead and try going down 1 grade and if you dont hear noise by the 2nd tankful, you will be fine. Some engines are high compression or dont have sensors for detonation (knock sensors) and you wont get a change and must simply run the better fuels, but at worst, you finish a tank or 2 and switch back if the noises never gi away.

Reset switch on emc for 1996 Lincoln mark 8

If you have not used a scanner for this operation then give it a try. as most ECM's use a scanner for the reset operation.

Where is the ECM relay located on a 98 Isuzu Rodeo

Emission control mechanism or relay is either a vacuum plunger type or a relay switch electrical plug that controls vacuum for the smog. Go to the parts store and look at one and ask where it goes or just trace it. This stops from buying one if you remove the hose or connector and the same problem is still there!

The engine normally works smoothly but evry now

If the car isn't supposed to work with premium gas you could be causing the problem by using that gas

higher octane burns colder than lower octane so you could end up having varnished valves and your combustion chamber walls so use the recommended gas for your car
