I put a 2005 motor in a 2001 pt cruiser and put all the 01 sensors on the 05 motor except for the crankshaft senor it is the 05. I am not getting fire at the coil pak


your crank sensor IS what fires the coil pack
mixing the two years sounds like the problem
check wire harnes see if the 01 powers the 05 the same termail
01 senor and pack may have to go back

I have an oldsmobile 94 98...i can be driving and all of a sudden it just shut down then i put it back in park and it fires right back up and drive off. i change the throttle postion sensor 5 months ago...

I have an 1994 98 oldsmobile ...i can be driving and all of a sudden the car will just shut down and soon as i pull over and put it in park it fires right back up and drive like it never happen.. i change...

The crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor both will shut down the vehicle if they are faulty. I would make sure that the crankshaft sensor is the problem first though and not a wiring issue like a bad connection to the sensor or a broken wire to the sensor. As for the camshaft sensor there really is no reason to replace it right now except for the fact that it is right there while you have the car torn down to get to the crank sensor,since there is no code for it right now if its not broke dont fix it nothing wrong with preventitive maintenance.

My anti-lock brakes light on the dash is on....what could be causing this?


Problems with ABS can be frustrating. You have senors on the front wheels, you have wires that run to the sensors, plus you have the ECU mounted to the master cylinder or on the fire wall depends on other options. Now the wheel sensors work like little alternators. Your wheels will have a gear that the senor reads as the wheel turns and then creates an A/C voltage that tells the ECU unit that the wheels are turning. Having a ABS code could mean that wiring to one of the sensors is broken or has fallen off, or is corroded at the plug end. Your ABS system has four major parts the ECU, an ABS hydraulic unit and the wiring harness to the wheel sensors, then last the sensors themselves. You will need to check all the wiring harnesses to each If you have a multi meter you can read the voltage of each wheel sensor at the other end of its wiring harness. Jack up the front end and find the end of each wheel sensor harness and spin the wheels by hand. you should get a reading on the AC voltage scale of about ..45 volts. not quite a half volt. when the wheel stops the meter should go to zero. spin the wheel and the meter should show voltage. That will tell you if the sensor and the wiring is good. The ECU has no trouble shooting it is good or bad.can't help you there. same with the Hydraulic unit. Most times it will be a wire broken or a bad wheel sensor. Good hunting.

2005 chevymonte carlo shifting hard intermittently


my son had the same problem on his 2003,i checked with a friend at a trans shop and he told me it has two senors in the trans (inside the cover on the drivers side ) and would cost $600.00 to $700.00 to fix,my son has a repair manual,so we looked it up,we bought the two shift senors cost approx, $100.00, thinking an easy fix,not at all, first we had to jack the car body up and drain the trany fluid, disconect everything,CV axel then we had to drop the engine and trans cradle down to gain acess to remove the side cover, the sensors took less than 5 min.to replace after we got the cover off, after about 8 hours of work,start to finish we replaced the two sensors and that fixed the problem,trans runs like new,this problem seems to exist in these transmissions my friend says,if you have some friends that know how to work on cars,you can save yourself alot of money, BEWARE if you let this problem continue you will blow your trans,hope this helps.

I know you may have already check this but have you looked at the ign fuse in the fuse box on drivers side dash panel and fuses in the fuse box under the hood
