It is my experience (25 years as a Ford dealer tech) that the gas gauge sending units are always the problem in this type of issue.

Ford f 150 dual gas tank drawing from both tanks at the same time

Replace the fuel deliver valve, it is under the truck on the drivers side, it is a black plastic canister with lots of plastic lines going in and out of it. If you find this is the problem disconnect one line at a time, don't take everything off at once and mix them up.

Fuel lines on frame connecting to a round aparatus 2 lines on one side 4 lines on the other that go to the fuel tanks. I don`t know what the name of this part is. I broke one of the quick connects and part...

if it has no electrical wires it is a fuel filter. if it has some wiring probably a fuel pump.if you have dual gas tanks it makes more sense for it to be a fuel pump because you have a delivery line plus a return line from each tank it may also be a fuel tank switch module... as models do vary some.

What is a metal box in fuel line that is in addition to the filter on a 89 f 250

if you have dual tanks, then that's the cover to a secondary fuel pump{electrical} under drivers door? yes if so. that's the secondary fuel pump to the engine if you have dual tanks.remove the metal cover and you should see the secondary electric fuel pump. if the trucks not running right, then that may be your issue.hope this helps, thank you for choosing fixya.com

Fuel gauge is inop and reads past full but still reads past full even with purple wire disconnected

single tanks or dual tanks, and if it is not working properly it will dive over the top end. Did one last week and it was a dual tank with a diverter valve that wasnt working right, and the sender wasnt getting contact either through the ground or the purple had to rewire both into an undisturbed part of the loom.

A FORD EQUIPED WITH DUAL TANKS THIS YEAR MODEL HAS CHECK VALVES IN THE FUEL PUMPS .THE FUEL RUNS FROM THE REAR TANK WHEN IT IS POWERED ON TO A TEE AND INTO THE SAME LINE AS THE FRONT PUMP . THE PROBLEM IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT FUEL PUMP THERE IS A CHECK VALVE ON THE FOOT AND IT IS NOT WORKING.WHILE THE TRUCK IS RUNNING WITH THE REAR FUEL PUMP ON IT IS PUMPING FUEL INTO THE FRONT TANK . IT WILL RUN OUT OF THE NECK WHEN IT IS FULL.THE FIX IS SIMPLE REPLACE THE FRONT FUEL PUMP. THEY DONT MAKE A CHECK VALVE REPLACEMENT I CHECKED I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU.
