2006 g6 gt will not start, does not turn over, no clicking

I have a 2006 pontiac g6 gt that will not start. When I turn the key, there is a slight electric hum, but no clicking and no sound from the engine. I tried to jump it, but a jump did not work.

Have a load test done on the battery as I suspect you have a dead cell or broken cell bridge.

SOURCE: how to fill transmission fluid in a 2006 pontiac G6 Gt

There should be a screw on the front of the trani near the coolant lines. With the engine off you unscrew the filler cap. That's on top of the trani on the driver's side. It has a little gear in fluid symbol on it. Then you take out the screw on the front and fill until fluid comes through the hole left by the screw. Remember to use Dex VI.

SOURCE: engine light 2006 pontiac g6(reset)

first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. 1. On the back of the assembly, unplug the harness that goes to the bulb.
  2. Then pull off the rubber sealer.
  3. There's a wire clip that goes along the bottom side of the bulb to hold it in place. Push that clip in (towards the front of the car) and down to release it.
  4. Pull out the old bulb.
  5. Insert the new bulb the same way (do not touch the bulb as that will cause it to exploded later on from the oil residue. Clean with rubbing alcohol if you touch the glass)
  6. Twist it back and forth to make sure it locks into place.
  7. Replace the clip by pushing in and up until it clicks into place.
  8. Replace the rubber sealer. Push around the entire edge until it snaps into place.
  9. Replace the wire harness.

If you look under the car between the rear axle and the fuel tank you should see the charcoal canister. The vent solenoid should be attached to the side of it.

I have a new key for a 2006 Pontiac G6. I need to know how to program it

Assuming it's an actual transponder type key, here's how...
Withe the car off, insert the existing key in ignition to ON (do not start the car). After a few seconds, remove it and immediately insert your new key to the same position for a few seconds. Turn ignition off and then try to start the car with that new key.

YOU NEED AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN TO LOCATE THE BATTERY DRAIN & OR BAD CONNECTION . THE TRUNK LIGHT MAY BE STAYING ON WHEN THE TRUNK IS SHUT, ALSO THE ALTERNATOR CAN CHARGE THE BATTERY, WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, BUT IF A DIODE IS BAD IT CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF

I cannot get the Change Oil Soon message to reset on a Pontiac G6

Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx 2004-06; 2006 HHR, Cobalt, Pontiac G6, Solstice
Turn ignition to run engine off. Display OIL LIFE RESET in the Driver Information Center (DIC). Press and hold the ENTER button for at least one second. An ACKNOWLEDGED’ display message will appear for three second or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
