Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
Blzer started ok when I left for work, four hours later it turned over a few times but wouldn't start, now it won't even turn over
How old is the battery? Most batteries are good for 60 months (5 years) after that time they really are worn out. The lead sluffs off the plates and piles up in the bottom and then shorts out one cell. Bite the bullet and replace the Battery if it is over 4 years old.

Check that battery by having a load test done as you may have a dead cell.

SOURCE: Our 2006 Chevy Cobalt is
OK, if the battery is fully charged (I would slow charge it 3 days after leaving the headlights on), then the starter could be bad. However, I would definitely check out that battery thoroughly before replacing an expensive part like a starter.
Batteries have an average life of only 3 years. If the 2006 Cobalt has the original battery, it's possible that it can run the headlights and the instruments and not have enough CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) to start the car. The starter takes the most amount of energy or amperage of any accessory on the vehicle.

SOURCE: Replaced stock bcm with used.
A used body control can be used in a vehicle other than the vehicle it was installed in. the body control module when first installed is programmed with the vehicle vin number. the vin number can not be changed was it was written to the BCM. the oprions can be always change in the BCM but not the VIN number. basically the used bcm you have installed has the vin number from the vehicle was installed in, now the vin number in the used BCM doesnt match all the other control modules
