It's the coil packs that are shot or wiring is backward if that's not the problem then check ignition coils or moisture in the wires

Why after I tuned up my 5.2 Dodge 1500 is now back firing ??

If it is backfiring out the intake, chances are that you have one of two issues:

1. You wired up the plugs to the wrong coil/distributor posts.
2. You have cross-firing on the plug wires if they are too closely aligned.

I tuned my 5.2 didge engine, cap wires rotor and plugs, and also installed new valve cover gaskets. When I started it, misses, and check engine light on, what did I do?

check the firing order of the plug wires on the cap you may have a couple in the wrong place or they maybe correct at the cap but not at the plugs.

1991 dodge dackota got no fire no gas just turns over

what about the fuel filter? its usually located under the brake booster where you put the brake fluid in its either under or around that erea somtimes the fuel filter will be clogged also check to see if its getting spark usually you can take the plug out they have a tester for this that you can buy at autozone or checkers or oriellys auto parts store and make sure your getting spark if not it could be bad distributor or cap and rotor check the cap to make sure all the points are there should be 4 or 6 make sure not broken also check the rotar for breakage or rust if its good and is getting spark possible fuel problem with the filter plugged up or possible fuel rail plugged or if you just recently tuned up maybe you have the wrong fireing order need to get a diagram of the spark plug wires if this is all good possible timing belt broke check to make sure the timing belt is good probably do this first so you dont ruin the engine if it is broke

prob a tooth or two off on the dist and or timing.could be 180 deg out. Set the vehicle at TDC and check plug wires for right spot.

Service engine soon light on; diagnostic code states: cylinder 7, Misfire

you need to have your engine tuned up, unless it's been done recently. misfire means it's not getting fire or fuel to #7 plug. you may have a plug wire bad or a bad spark plug on #7 if you go to effort of sending it to garage just to replace one plug or wire, you'll pay labor for whole tune up. wires, plugs, and maybe a bad coil pack. suggest you have tuned up with new plugs and wires. also while they are there, have them check fire to #7 plug on coil first before you do a complete tune up. thank you for choosing fixya.com

CHECK THE FIREING ORDER ON YOUR TRUCK.MAKE SURE THE WIRES ARE BACK ON THE PROPER PLUGS.CHECK AND SEE IF THE HARNESS TO THE DISTRIBUTER IS PLUGGED IN.
