Question about 1996 Ford Taurus
Like turning on a light bulb my taurus began overheating on one trip. water is full and fans run but heat indicator shows overheat after about 2-3 miles. system pumps water out overflow container. surmised problem is thermostat. is it located just left of center behind fans looking into engine? can it be easily changed without lifting car?
The thermostat can be easily changed from up top, the T-stat is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose under the flange the hose connects to. Make sure u follow manufacturer's cooling system bleeding procedures when you refill after the T-stat is changed out.
