1997 Honda CRV horn starts blaring when driving down the road.

Most likely wire inside steering column has rubbed a bare spot and is shorting. Short term fix is disconnect horns. Might check horn relay first by tapping with broom handle of such.

After replacing my battery in my 1998 ford taurus the horn continually blares. I have tried putting the key in the ignition and turning it to on, horn keeps blaring and car won't stop. Also

Your horn relay may be shorting out, making your horn operate all the time. Have a look at your relays. You might find the horn relay is the same as another relay, If it is, try swapping relays with a known good one, and see if the horn operates normally. If so, get a new relay. Good-Day!

Horn in 2004 hyundai elantra keeps going off after car shut off for a few minutes.

I had this same problem with a car I was driving out in 'Frisco.
What a pain!
The problem was a short in the horn button on the steering wheel.
The dealer demanded replacing the horn button, which was PART OF THE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY, AND THAT COST 1.,000 DOLLARS!
After intense arguing, warranty covered it.
If I was faced with this, I get me a blow dryer for your hair and position it to blow inside the back of the steering wheel on LOW heat, so as not to melt the plastic, for about 6 hours.
Anything you can do to dry out the inside of the steering wheel should help.
Be blessed.

Car horn begins blaring when the car is not on and

In my case it turned out to be a bad horn pad on the steering wheel. It was especially bad when the weather was very cold. The horn would begin beeping in the middle of the night and wake me up, or begin beeping while I was driving. The dealership replaced it at no charge, so there must have been a recall for this problem. Good luck!

Horn honks by itself

This is a common problem with GM vehicles in that year range. The horn switch (buttons) in the steering wheel pad get stuck closed. The switches are embedded in the air bag assembly and would be difficult to replace. A temporary fix to stop the horn is to remove fuse #3 in the relay center which is located in the bottom of the dash on the passenger side, the plastic cover has to be removed for access. DO NOT only disconnect the wires from the horns as the relay switch that controls the circuit will remain powered constantly and will kill your battery. To restore horn function there are aftermarket horn button kits available at most auto parts stores.

If this info is helpful please give me a favorable rating.

Saturn - 2000 sc2 - horn won' work - when fuse placed in, won't stop blaring. replaced fuses, switched out relays.

Sounds like the switch in the steering wheel is stuck if the horn won't stop sounding. They get rusty and stick. Sometimes you can take apart and sand them.

I wonder,, with colder tempratures this time of year, If somehow a connection in the horn pad was shorting out.due to expansion or contraction of a component inside the steering wheel. Try tapping on the top of the air bag on the steering wheel and horn buttons ..this may work ..note this is a guess and I hope this does it the only reason I mentioned it Is because I have seen this two other times...Good luck.

Horn/lights on 2002 Toyota Tacoma

Rewire your horn from the steering wheel to the horn. Its not difficult, I can't tell you how to take the steering wheel apart but you can get a Haynes Repair Manual. It'll have all you need and more. You can use speaker wire, split it in two. Run one cable from the positive in the battery to the horn switch in the steering wheel. Another from the switch to the horn. You have a short somewhere, to me is easier just to run new wires than to find the short-circuit. Make sure when you run the cables through the firewall you run through a grommet so it does not get damaged by metal. Before anything check your headlight wires that they are not touching the horn.
