You got it, Common for the plastic top where the wire leads connect to crack. This will cause the oil to leak and at worst, what you have indicated happening on your Blazer. Note; when installing the new sensor, do not use any Teflon tape on the threads. The sensor is tapered and works best to have a good ground, so just tighten it enough to keep the oil from leaking. Good luck friend and make sure you pick up the right oil sending unit sensor. One is for just a light to activate and the other is the one you need to be able to give you a oil pressure reading. Best to go at a Dealer for this part with your VIN number.

Testimonial: "thanks alot i am very thankful for your help"
Hello goldwing0001: My name is Roger and I will be glad to help. GM moved the switch from down by the oil filter to the top of the engine. Look at the back of the bell housing right next to the distributor. You will find a long slender switch. This will be the switch for the fuel pump. See the attached picture. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it helped. Thank You f or using Fix Ya. Roger

The oil sending unit is located on the engine block behind the drivers cylinder head area. You have to climb up on the motor to see it cause it is hard to see behind the wiring harness. You may also want to purchase a new sending unit because it is very long and you might need to buy the sending unit socket to replace it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
