Question about Cars & Trucks
My signals or emerg lights wont come on i was wondering if its my flasher or switch how do i figure out? interior light do come on, outside lights do come on i did notice one burnt light bulb in my back window, however my turning lights wont come on or show up on my dash as on please help a single mom that cant waste money ,thx
Dear single Mom can't waste money. The relay that governs both the turn signal and the hazard lights is located behind the steering wheel in the steering column. If the lights do not blink, this could be bad or it may be the switch itself.
This repair can be done easily with a little mechanical knowledge. The top plastic of the steering column has to be remove. There is a relay, about 1inch cube on the back of the signal switch. It is usually black but could be gray or any other color. I do not think it comes in pink though! (Haha)! That is the first thing you change. It just pulls out. When you replace the new one, make sure the orientation of the pins are correct. It will only go in one way.
I hope this helps but please be careful if you are going to do it yourself or have someone with no mechanical ability try to do it!
