The anti theft has kicked in
SOURCE: battery died and anti theft code went into effect
Call your Volvo dealer with the VIN number. They can give you the code and advise if you can reset it yourself or if you will have to take it in.
SOURCE: Anti-theft
if the vehicle starts then stops and the anti-theft light is flahing you may need to re-set the pass-key system to do this you will need to atempt to start the vehicle and when it stalls leave the key in that position and watch the anti-theft light. it should flash on and off for about 5 to 10 minutes. when it stops flahing turn the ignition to off then try to restart your vehicle
SOURCE: anti-theft system will not allow car to start
Have you chaged the battery on the remote. And also do you have a valet button under the dash somewhere if you push it for about 15-30 sec. it should reset the alarm. if it fails you might need a whole new alarm system.
SOURCE: anti theft code P1629
try leaving the key on for 5 to 10 minutes
for the BCM (body control module) to relearn
SOURCE: Anti theft activated-now car won't start and radio
to turn off the theft system, all you have to do is put the key in the door lock and lock and unlock the door, this shuts down the anti theft system, now this has nothing to do with the radio, the only way the radio would ask for the code is if it was removed or the battery unhooked, anyway try the unlocking of the door even try the passenger door, hope this helps.
