Undo bolts on plastic cover on top of motor,unplug spark plug wire 1 at a time, thats going in the top of motor,u will need a spark plug socket wrench with extension shaft,check electrode gap before installing new plugs!

I have bad news for you
p0604 is a transmission control module

check the connection at the transmission control module if there are no connection issues than you will need to replace the transmission controll module "tcm" there is no other test for that code.

it is probably the starter assuming the engine isnt locked up. I would check to see if you have battery voltage at the starters solenoid wire with the key in the start position if you do i would check the fuses and starter relay

SOURCE: replace thermostat 2003 kia spectra

Hello, my name is Mario.

1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
2. Drain engine coolant
3. Remove bolt and nut for thermostat housing
4. Remove the old thermostat
5. Put a new thermostat and gasket (Install thermostat into cylinder head with jiggle pin positioned up.)
6. Place thermostat housing
7. Fill radiator with engine coolant
8. Connect battery negative cable
9. Start engine and check for leaks.

We tried to replace the timing belt ourselves, and even though we had done it fine on other cars, we blew the engine and had to replace it. It is NOT worth it!!!

Recently changed spark plugs on 2003 kia spectra. Afterwards it started to sputter at low rpms. I changed fuel filter and it still sputters. When moving and over 1000 rpm it runs fine. What do I do?

when you took off the injectors one by one you should have been able to determine which cylinder has the problem. sound like a valve train problem

They are under the coil packs. Remove the coils and you will see them.

How many spark plugs does a 2003 kia spectra have?

Your car is 4 cylinders that means its has 4 spark plugs if its 6 Cylinders that means you have 6 park plugs and if its 8 Cylinders That means you have 8 spark plugs and if you have 12 Cylinders that means you have 12 spark plugs. Have a check engine light on 2003 Kia Spectra GS. Told by mechanic that the codes state cylinder misfire in 2 cylinders and thinks it's a blown head gasket or cracked valve. Could it be that the wires or...

i think he is wrong ....check plugs wires and for vacuum leaks common for intake gaskets i have changed 3 this year and all had cyl misfire related codes

Put in new spark plugs on 2003 kia spectra can not find plugs

there is a cover on the top of the engine itself the you have to pull off. Underneath it you will find where the plugs are. It should be about 6 screw to take of the engine cover in the center.
