Door Lock System Controls
The Power Door Lock System is controlled by the body control module (BCM) and can be activated by any one of the following:
?€¢
A door lock switch lock or unlock actuation

?€¢
A keyless entry transmitter actuation

?€¢
An automatic door lock or unlock actuation

?€¢
A last door closed locking (LDCL) actuation
If the driver door cylinder switch feature of the vehicle is functional, the locks may also be operated by a driver door cylinder switch lock or unlock activation.
Power Door Lock Switch Operation
Each door lock switch is wired to the body control module (BCM) through a separate door lock/unlock signal circuit. While these circuits are separated between the BCM and respective door lock switch, they are connected into a single circuit within the BCM. The BCM supplies voltage through the door lock/unlock signal circuits to each door lock switch. When either door lock switch is operated, this supply voltage is pulled to ground, providing the BCM with the required lock or unlock signal. In order for the BCM to distinguish between a lock and unlock signal, the lock switch contains two separate paths for this voltage to flow to the same body ground. When the switch is operated to the unlock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a 1.5 K?© resistor. When the switch is operated to the lock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a different part of the switch circuit, which has no resistor. The BCM then interprets the flow of voltage as a lock or unlock request and powers the door lock actuators to the appropriate lock or unlock position.
I'll post a youtube video on how to test the power door locks computer controlled , check it out ! Your problem could be a switch or the lock actuator , BCM , wiring etc.... you need to test it to see !

Jeff, you give really good answers. I like them, but I also understand what you are saying. I've seen lots of mechanics that are lost when they have to switch the meter from volts to ohms. And most of them are lost when it goes from 12 volts to 5 volts. I work with them today, that can't even figure out a wiring schematic. I help people that are interested, but most aren't. To complicated. Like your posts though..Randy

Thank's Randy , Most people who post questions on here do not have a clue as to what is involved in repairing todays automobiles , Electronic control modules an serial data bus communications etc.. I hope it stopes people from just replacing parts an to take it to someone who knows whats happening rather then waste there money. I read to many post where they say i replaced the fuel pump , fuel filter an the PCM an it still will not start, what's wronge ! From here I can say what mite be wrong but I can't teach them how to test the systems , circuits etc.. I have thrity years on an off expereince , started at a Chevy dealer ship 1984 after two years at a community college for automovtive technology programe .

If you can unlock it with a key, replace the latch in the door. If you can't unlock it with a key, the plastic clip holding the rod is broken.

This is usually caused by broken plastic parts in the lock system. The best would be to verify and lub all locks and check out the elecrical.

All my remotes won't unlock passenger doors, why?

this is a problem that can appear after your car battery died, cause the car didn't reset propely, so taking the battery out and putting it back in or letting your car die again would do the trick. I tried a lot of reprogramming procedured for my remote key, none of them worked, what did the trick though was simply unlocking the doors via the all door unlock button on the passenger side door, so simple.

This usually set by a small mechanisum on the face of the door jamb on the door. If electics won't work then remove the interior door panel and go from there.

Passenger door won;t unlock

CV boot, requires axle disassembly, or you could use an aftermarket, split boot. You MUST replace the lube....

It is often much better to exchange the shaft with a new or rebuilt one. Many vibrations are caused if there is even a minor imperfection in the CV joint.

Passenger sliding door doesn´t unlock (Power locks). When pulling the handle either inside or outside with doors unlocked it won´t open.

Sound like you have a dammaged door latch assembly. It is a pain but you have to take the insid door trim panal off to see what you are doing and make sure the latch assy is un locking. Dis connect power door lock motor linkage to make sure motot is not jaming the lock in the lock possition.
