Question about 2003 GMC Envoy

1 Answer

I lost most of my electrical on my 2003 Envoy. The windows, radio, seats, heat a/c, interior lights, back wipers. I know this can not be a fuse--where else can I look?

It was a fuse after all. I guess I don't understand why a fuse (labeled "trailer") would operate all those accessories. Thank you for responding.

Crusty battery terminals or a ground cable that has developed resistance due to corrosion can let low current loads operate but nothing more. I'd suggest buying a battery terminal brush (auto parts store) which has wire bristles for the inside of the clamp and the battery terminals too. If that doesn't restore things, remove the negative cable from the battery (this one always first), trace the path of the negative cable to where it attaches to the block or chassis, clean that end then the cable connecting the block and chassis together (you may have to look for it) and finally, before reconnecting the battery, remove the positive cable from the starter terminal and clean this too. As an aid to corrosion prevention, I use either dielectric grease or at least petroleum jelly on anything before it is reconnected.

My gfs envoy does this stuff too. Weirdly i found a wiring harness under the driver seat that has a mind of its own. When these problems happen look under the driver seat and move the wiring harness around. It fixed my problem, it may be a connection that is not making good contact in that harness.

My heated seats, easy exit seat, cruise control, and odometer lights were all effected by this one harness
