Fiat stilo abarth 2.4 semi-automatic gearbox what type of clutch fluid is used

The clutch in the Fiat stilo abarth selespeed uses the same fluid as the braking system. Just find the container in the engine bay with the braking fluid. And top up with ''DOT 4 Brake & Clutch Fluid'' Note it's not the oild for the Gearbox or selespeed. You should never touch the container that holds the fluid for the Selespeed.

Clutch pedal dropped to the floor

It be a bad Clutch Slave Cylinder or it could be low on fluid. Check the reservior which is located on the engine compartment firewall and make sure is is filled to full line. if there is fluid in there than the Slave Cyclinder is bad, it is not holding pressure. Replace and it should be fine.

I was driving my crv home today and the clutch went to about half pedal...Hard to get in gear...it has 135,000 miles...I was wondering if it had some adjustment on it...thank you...Doug Deatherage

It should have some adjustment to it or it may be time to replace the clutch if it is the OE Clutch that has been in service since new. Check to see that there is fluid in the Slave Cylinder Reservior and have a Mechanic adjust the clutch.

Depending on where the leak is you may need to replace the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder. Or a line, the reservior is rarly the cause of a leak. If it is leaking into the car or at the firewall the master cylinder is bad.

Clutch fluid leak

the 900 uses the same reservoir for both brake and clutch; it's in front of the firewall on the side of the pedals, immediately visible when you open the hood. Milky plastic, with a screw top; max and min levels marked by lines.

clutch leaks can be at the slave cylinder in the clutch, which will likely cause slipping clutch; at the master cylinder, which may show as fluid inside the car; or in line between them (runs from master cylinder at firewall to front of engine, where the clutch is located).

Look for leaks on ground and relate to location above leak in engine bay
