I have the 2008 velocity 150cc scooter my muffler bracket is broke and it rattled my bolts lose so I tightened them but it still has a leak Do I need a new gasket And if so where would I find one

You can make your own with gasket paper its not real paper but thats what some company call this. there is a number of thicknesses, or just use some gum exhaust gum take the exhaust off clean the area with wire brush and put back together using the gum run engine for 10 15 min and leave to cool down and its then sealed.

If everything has been installed correctly and torqued right you might want to check for crackes in the block or pan.

SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.

SOURCE: Muffler is loud and rattles due to debris and possible hole

either live with it or get out a saw and cut it out and weld in a new exhaust muffler. or you might get the measurements and get one to fit where you cut out the old one from your parts store.. make sure you measure your pipe and get a muffler that will fit over the pipe .. it most likely needs a new exhaust manifold. On stuff this old these parts are way rusty. If the rest of the car is good this is why the guy dumped it on you. If you can find parts they are spendy. Google dodge shadow turbo ,kits ect . see what comes up. there is aftermarket stuff,who knows you might even be able to get a bigger turbo

Rattle on start up


This could be anything from an unbalanced fan to a muffler bracket loose. The way to find this would be to have someone repeatedly start the vehicle and narrow down where it is coming from. At that point you can tighten bend or replace.

How do i adjust the tightness of the power steering pump belt 2008 chrysler sebring 2.7


  1. From the top of the vehicle loosen pivot bolt Power Steering Belt Adjustment
  2. From under the vehicle loosen the locking bolts F and G
  3. Install the belt. Adjust belt tension with 1/2 in. breaker bar installed in adjusting bracket Power Steering Belt Adjustment
  4. Tighten locking bolt G to 28 N·m (250 in. lbs.)
  5. Tighten locking bolt F and the pivot bolt to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.)

Rattle in cam belt cover


remove the cover, you could be losing the belt and its slapping the cover , unless its just a lose cover rattle,, then re tighten the hold down bolts

If the gasket is on the oil pan you may try tightening the bolt. To tighten pan gaskets you'll need to tighten in steps in a crisscross pattern. Snug a bolt move across the pan snug another bolt. Do this until all bolts are snug. Do not over tighten pan gasket bolts or leaks will occur. Just uniformly snuf.

Have a bad rattle at the muffler.sounds like the it is hitting the car.like a bracket broke.


Very common problem with the muffler strap(clamp) breaking. It can be bought at any auto parts store & is easily replaced. It wraps around muffler & slides into a rubber mount bracket.

How to change front brake pads on 2003 Chevy Suburban


Disc Brake Pads for Suburban 1500 Removal & Installation Front To Remove:
Front caliper mounting bracket 93086g95.gif

  1. Remove the cover on the master cylinder and siphon out 2/3 of the fluid. This step prevents spilling fluid when the piston is pushed back into the caliper bore.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  4. Compress the brake piston back into its bore using a C-clamp.
  5. Remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts. Lift the caliper off the rotor.
  6. Remove the inboard and outboard pad.
  7. Remove and discard the anti-rattle clips.
To Install:

  1. Thoroughly inspect, clean and lubricate all caliper slide points, bolts and hardware.
  2. Install new anti-rattle clips.
  3. Position the inboard and outboard pads into the support bracket
  4. With the 2 pads in position, place the caliper over the brake rotor and align the holes in the caliper with those of the mounting bracket.
  5. Install the caliper mounting bolts through the sleeves in the inboard caliper ears and into the mounting bracket.
  6. Tighten the mounting bolts to: 80 lb. ft, (110 Nm).
  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Add fluid to the master cylinder reservoirs so they are 1/4 in. (6.35mm) from the top.
  9. Test the brake pedal by pumping it to obtain a hard pedal. Check the fluid level and add fluid as necessary.
Rear To Remove:
  1. Remove 2/3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  4. Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts. Suspend the caliper from the frame with mechanic's wire. Do not allow the caliper to hang from the brake hose.
  5. Remove the brake pads from the caliper mounting bracket.
  6. Remove and discard the anti-rattle clips.

To Install:
  1. Install new anti-rattle clips.
  2. Position the brake pads to the caliper mounting bracket.
  3. With the 2 pads in position, place the caliper over the brake rotor and align the holes in the caliper with those of the mounting bracket.
  4. Install NEW caliper mounting bolts. Tighten to: 30 lb. ft, (40 Nm).
  5. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Refill the master cylinder to the proper level with fresh brake fluid. Pump the brake pedal slowly and firmly to seat the brake pads. Burnish the brakes as needed.

Removal of front right axle from a jaguar 2002 x-type


Loosen the wheel hub nut.
Remove the front road wheel and tire.
Remove the tie rod end retaining nut.
Using the special tool 204-192 Ball joint Splitter
detach the tie rod end.
Remove the subframe reinforcement plate retaining bolts.
Loosen the subframe rear mount bolt.
Loosen the subframe front mount bolt.
Remove and discard the wheel hub nut.
using spcial tools 204-269Forcing Screw,205-491-01 adapter nuts,205-491 wheel hub puller
Detach the wheel knuckle.
Remove the lower arm ball joint retaining bolt.
Reposition the lower arm.
Detach the wheel knuckle.
using special tools 307-443 RH Halfshaft splitter ,307-442 RH Halfshaft splitter handle
detach the halfshaft.
Remove the exhaust muffler inlet pipe.
Remove the halfshaft seal.
Remove the transfer case Y bracket retaining bolt.
To prevent damage to the transfer box internal seal,
make sure that the link shaft is not retracted further than
200 mm from the transfer box casing.
remove the halfshaft.
Attach special tools to the halfshaft.
Lever the special tools to displace the halfshaft.
Install the transfer case Y bracket retaining bolt.
Remove the halfshaft.
Use suitable protective covers to protect the barshaft.
Remove the halfshaft snap ring.
Install a new snap ring to the halfshaft.
Install a new halfshaft seal.
Remove the special tool.
Remove the transfer case Y bracket retaining bolt.
Remove the special tool.
Make sure the CV joint splines are located fully.
Do not use excessive force when engaging the CV joint into the link shaft.
Install the halfshaft.
Install the transfer case Y bracket retaining bolt.
Tighten to 25 Nm.
Attach the wheel knuckle.
Reposition the lower arm.
Attach the wheel knuckle.
Install the lower arm ball joint retaining bolt.
Tighten to 83 Nm.
Install the exhaust muffler inlet pipe.
Tighten the subframe front mount retaining bolt.
Tighten to 142 Nm.
Loosely install the subframe rear mount retaining bolt.
Install the subframe reinforcement plate retaining bolts.
Tighten to 35 Nm. Tighten to 142 Nm.
Install the tie rod end.
Tighten to 35 Nm.
Loosely install a new wheel hub nut.
Install the front road wheel and tire.
Tighten the wheel hub nut.
Tighten to 330 Nm.
Check the subframe alignment.

Can't get the ignition out. I need to replace it because the key broke off how do I get the old ignition out. I have the key out.


PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE!!!!

Some models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses an air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS, as described in Section 6.


Before continuing with this procedure, make sure to have available a new steering wheel retaining bolt and two lock cylinder retaining bolts. Once removed, these parts lose their torque holding ability (or retention capability) and must not be reused.
  1. If equipped, disarm the air bag system and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering wheel.
  3. Remove the combination switch.
  4. Unplug the wiring connector to the ignition switch.
  5. Remove the ignition and shifter interlock cable mounting bracket bolt and position the assembly to one side.
  6. Remove the four steering column bracket bolts and lower the steering column.
  7. Cut a groove in the ignition cylinder bracket bolts with a chisel and hammer or use a similar method.
  8. Using a screwdriver, remove and discard the bracket bolts.
  9. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder and bracket.

Use a chisel and hammer to cut a groove in the ignition cylinder bracket bolts-1991-96 models shown; 1997-99 models similar

To install:
  1. Install the new ignition switch and the bracket into position on the steering column tube.
  2. Install the new lock cylinder bolts and tighten the bolts enough to hold the switch in position.
  3. Check for proper switch operation by rotating the key to each position. If necessary, reposition the lock cylinder until it operates properly.
  4. If positioned properly, tighten the retaining bolts until the bolt head shears off.
  5. Raise and position the steering column. Tighten the bracket bolts to 80-124 inch lbs. (9-14 Nm).
  6. If equipped with tilt column, remove the upper mounting bracket retaining pin.
  7. Position the interlock cable bracket. Install and tighten the retaining bolt to 35-53 inch lbs. (4-6 Nm).
  8. Attach the wiring connector to the ignition switch.
  9. Install the combination switch.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Confirm operational status of the air bag system by turning the ignition key to the RUN position and visually monitoring the air bag indicator lamp in the instrument cluster. The indicator lamp should illuminate for approximately 6 seconds and then turn OFF. If the indicator lamp does not illuminate, stays ON, or flashes at any time, a fault has been detected by the air bag diagnostic monitor.
  12. Check the steering wheel, horn and combination switch functions for proper operation.
