Airbag light comes on when ignition is turned on,engine statrs light goes out momenterally then comes back on an remains on.
It might be a defective clockspring in the steering column. This also may cause the cruise control to not work at all or intermittently.

It's the " clock spring " . Dodge has a lifetime recall / replacement on this part. Somehow it controls the air bag and is tied into the horn and cruise control .

SOURCE: I have a 2002 Dodge
This is a very common problem with these vans and it is caused by a faulty front control module. The front control module is the silver box attached to the front side of the underhood fuse box and it will need replacing. It's just held in place with screws.
