Is the security light on? If you have spark and fuel, it should run. Any codes? Could be bad crank sensor or cam sensor.

SOURCE: 3.1 engine 96 misfires trough driving speeds and idle

i had a 94 that ran into problems like that with very rough idles and misses. i get about five different codes from injectors to oxygen sensor. turned out my negative wire from the battery was so corroded inside the insulation it was causing all sorts of problems. bought new cable and ends from canadian tire $40.00 and installed (had to clean the connection to the block with sand paper) but fixed all my problems after that.

cheers

SOURCE: 2001 Pontiac Grand Am won't crank and I have replaced everything

I am going to go with the assumption that when you say it won't crank you mean it turns over but won't start. If it is a 3100 or 3400 it could be the coil pac modual that sits under the coil pack. Most Autozones and Advance stores have a tester for them so you won't have to repalce something that expensive. If it is a 2.4 you may need the tower that houses the coil packs or even the coil pac modual that sits under the cover on top of the motor. Before you do anything else, spay some ether down the intake while turning over. If it thry to run, then you may have a fuel pump problem. Better than that if you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, check the pressure while you are turning the engine over. Compare it to the recomended presure in section four of a hayes manual.

If your Injectors has a fuel during cranking your engine, check your spark plugs if it is wet dry it up, or change it by new ones. Then crank it again.

2001 jeep grand chorkee long crank times replaced crank sensor cam sensor and fuel pump cold starts only 4.7 engine

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Changed starter and alternator and still wont start on 1988 grand am

There are few things that you will have to check. 1) Is the battery properly charged. 2) Are you getting spark at the spark plugs, when you crank the car to start. 3) Is there proper fuel in the car. ---------------- If the battery is not charged properly the car will not start.Check the voltage of the battery .It should be exact 12volt. If there is no spark coming when you crank the engine then its the problem of either the spark plugs or the coil pack.the spark plugs gets power to spark from coil packs. Also check the fuel pump and fuel filter. If the fuel pump and fuel filter are worn out then it will not supply the fuel properly to the engine and this results in no-start problem. If all battery, fuel pump and spark plugs checked out OK then its time to check the wiring connections between the battery to starter and battery to alternator. This will help. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.8 eng won't start

Check primary voltage at ignition coil and fuel injectors, engine cranking, use a test lite, dark green wire with orange tracer. If no voltage, that comes from asd relay. Some makes and models if the computer doesn't see the cam and crank sensor signals, the computer won't ground the relay.
You need to do some testing.

The engine is cranking want start

check for fuel .? spray staring fluid into throtle body then crank if engine runs then stalls you have fuel related problem ( fuel pump) if no start you have ignition problem ( coil or distributor check for spark use a screw driver insert into spark plug wire at spark plug end hold about 1/4 away from gronded engine and crank engine see if spark jumps gap if no spark could be coil or crank sensor
