Mike, if this is a dual climate control electronic system you can run a self test on heater control head.turn key on and within 10 seconds press off and floor simultaneously for a second then release and press auto...this will put system into self test. You'll hear all functions of heater system moving. At the end it will show you a trouble code..then with this code you can goggle it and find out what's wrong. There is a total of 5 actuators in that system.most of the time the tiny plastic gear strips out inside of them.u can hear it and actually feel which one is causing concern.very common concern on these..if I do 2 I usually do all of them, but that consists of taking out dash.the 2 temp blend actuators are easy and minimal dash trim only has to be remo

My 98 Buick Park Avenue has driver and passenger AC settings but the passenger side always blows hot air. Very cold on drivers side. Why??Can't stand the heat even when vent is closed.

Try unplugging the battery for 5 min's to re-sync the dual climate controls. If that fails it is likely that the air temperature control blend door is sticking to in the heated air position, this is either due to the door being warped and sticking inside the duct work or the electric actuator for the door being defective, both are usually replaced.

My heat in my 2002jeep liberty blows hot when first cuts on after min or two starts blowing cold how can I fix

This is a possible recall of the heating and air vent door inside HVAC SYSTEM..some of the doors will get stuck, open half way ,or break..Also it could be the actuator that opens the vent door..Sometimes the control switch can also be at fault...Be sure and check dealer for recalls on vent doors....The doors take a day to repair pending door location...This is a chrysler jeep problem..I am a Chrysler/Jeep Tech...

Why is it when I turn on the heat in the car it only heat up the passinger side of the car.. an the driver side blows cold air..

Your air blend door is stuck shut.....The HVAC system has doors in the passage tunnels where the air blows through...The doors are operated by actuators sometimes they will fail but normally the doors will break at the hinge or wear out enough to make it **** sideways and stick half way....
Since you are getting cold air you are just getting vent air from a seperate tunnel...You might could get a diagram picture of it from google to give you an idea what I am talking about it you do not know....The bad thing is you will have to get a dealer to scan the HVAC system to see which doors or door actuators have failed...also you have to remove dash to repair......It is not an easy task .....
Just tell the technician that you think the heat/cool blend doors are sticking or the actuators are not working and he should know what to look for.....Hope this helps................Metalpoet

The heat will not come on

the vent doors work off of vacuum. You can open the doors manually, set the control to what you want, then down at the passenger side, you can open the door,by the connector. just give it a tug. You will find out if its the door sticking, or the actuator. if its the actuator, it could be a vacuum or the actuator control box its self. if the door won't stay open, you can disconnect it, and open it yourself til you get it fixed. This unit is located next to the heater core under the dash, by the heater core

Passenger side heat doesn't work in my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. There is no heat, only cold air, coming from the dash, floor, & defrost vents. There are dual temp controls for the driver &...

I really can't be sure off hand, but what you wrote looks like the control valves are sticking(these flaps allow air to go different directions at the vents). its located at the heater core(towards the left side of the heater core) under the plastic just under the dash. you can manually move them, encase they are stuck, they do stick sometimes. while checking the vent doors, make sure your vacuum lines are connected. also check to make sure your vent hoses are tight. I hope this helps

There is no heat the fan works fine how do i fix it?

This sounds like the blend door actuator. This is a little door in the vent box down under the passenger side dash that opens and closes to change the vent temperature from heat to a/c. It is a little motor that opens the door. It tends to stop working due to the elements that it is in. I hope this helps!! Thanks!!

No heat in my 2006 toyota tacoma heater core is hot on both hoses only 20,000 miles on it can it be some vent not opening?

Absolutely. There are "blend doors" that send the air across the heater core or around it. If they stick or the switch that controls them malfunctions -- no heat. Good luck.

Air Conditioner

It is probably being caused by one of the vent doors (in the AC/heat system) sticking and not moving into the air conditioner mode. For a temporary fix, just keep changing the controls from heat to AC and
sooner or later it will probable work. For a permanent fix you need to use 3 in 1 oil and try to oil the doors in the system.

Hope this helps Good luck
