Question about 2002 Toyota Tacoma
Vehicle: 2002 Toy Tacoma DBL cab 4x4, 3.4l v-6. Problem: I have an intermittent abs light that comes on. Worst problem is that my abs engages even on dry pavement making a loud gear on gear sound that seems to be coming from the center of the floorboard to the right of my feet. This happens mostly while braking into a left turn while trying to come to a stop sign/light. This goes away if I pump the brakes. So far I have had Les Schwab diagnose it as a bad LF wheel speed sensor. They replaced it and I still have the same issue. Took it back to them, they tested impedance on both WS sensors, tone ring etc, all checked out fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
Sounds like a bad wire either in the sensor cable or on a connector wifes van did some funky things and it was a bad sensor, also check to be sure there is no corasion on at the connector,

The ABS and air bags work together on startup untill the lights go out, this is OK.
If the light stays on then you may want
to get checked out.

it should just have 1 bolt holding it in. easy to replace. look at the end of the axle for a 2 wire sensor.

You can do it yourself. One bolt. Check the plug and wires before you replace the sensor. A stick or whatever can break a wire and the sensor reads bad, but really it just needs a wire. Worth a quick look before you spend the $ on a new part.

you may have a bad wheel speed sensor or a bad tone ring, you will need a scan tool or a repair shop to pinpoint which wheel is acting up, then from there test the sensor and look at tone ring.

The port is located under the dash on the drivers side. It is located to the right of the steering column. Should be black and pointing downward.
