Question about 1992 Buick Park Avenue
If your refering to the light on the odometer and its dark there is a little resister on the back of the cluster that you cannot fix yourself unless your an electronic oriented person. this happened to me. I went on ebay and bought another one and it worked about 2 years and not its the same thing, black with no light. I read some where these are warranteed for life by buick and they have to replace them but that was around 8 years ago and not sure if it still applys.

It is possible that the connector came off the back of the circuit board behind the speedometer. Do the lights work IN the speedometer and gauges? Could also be that the ground wire loosened up under the dash, usually on the drivers side. Just some suggestions that I thought might help. Best wishes to you.

Yes the dealer is right. there are several places that rebuild these for less than a new one. The dealer should be able to send it out or get a rebuilt cluster. If the dealer doenst want to help you, find a good repair shop, they usually have a place they get clusters from.

SOURCE: Instrument Panel Cluster Light's
Remove the instrument cluster. Un-plug the attached wiring harness. Lay the cluster on its face and un snap the black plastic cover over the PC board. Carefully lift the PC board off the gauge assembly. When you turn over the board, you will see four small surface-mount resistors burned and or fallen off the board. They are grouped together on one end of the board. You will need to replace them with four 120 ohm 1/2 watt resistors.
