Question about Suzuki Grand Vitara
2006 grand vitara. Running great then without warning started idling rough at lights. No check engine or emission lights. Runs great when not idling. New EGR about 2 thousand miles back.
Your idle valve may be dirty or needs replacing would check this as it controls idle. sits on the intake with wires coming out of it.

Just trowing some suggestions out there, but, I would check the idle air control valve (solenoid) or the throttle position sensor. If they check out then my last guess would be the map sensor or the vaccuum to the map sensor. Hope I was able to help. Best wishes.

Check your o2 sensor voltage, those trucks are real bad for o2 sensors, and yes if one sensor is reading 0mv, the others will start to drop out, and the vehicle will run very, rough. You also may check fuel system pressure, should be almost 60p.s.i. If its alot lower, Id be looking into a fuel pump. If that vehicle is drive-by-wire (no throttle cable), the throttle bodies get very dirty and cause that concern also. Id start by having the vehicle scantested.

Check the ignition control module. Sounds like the exact same problem I have had with mine. Took it to the dealership and the were able to tell me right away. The ignition control module is very easy to replace and is located on the top of the valve cover. Hope this helps!
