I had this problem with my serpentine belt idler pulley. It is either the tension pulley or the idler pulley. Autozone for about $17 to $25. Good Luck

Squealing Tires?

Is it a tire squeal or brake squeal? If it is brake squeal put high temp synthetic brake lube grease behind the brake pads to reduce/remove the brake squeal. This allows the pads to sit on a bed of grease and will not vibrate at the frequency which produces the squeal.

Squealing noise (LOUD)

You need to check the pulley alignment of all the pulleys, they should all be in a perfectly straight line, otherwise the belt will squeal

96 monte carlo was driving today with no problem after I got home and was parking the car and it shook, then shut off. I tried to crank it but nothing happened, and tried numerous times.now,it doesn't even...

Yes it saounds like it so 1st thing to do is to check radiator coolant 2nd check engine oil (is it full) 3rd check gear box fluid if all ok then you have either the startes is jamed or a dead short
If any 1/2/3 have a no instead of a ok then let me know and we can sort it out from there
