You must have a nearly dead battery, have it jumped then go to a Kragen and have them test the battery and the charging system for a fault. This is FREE!

SOURCE: ticking noise upon engine start
It would seem you could have a problem with the valve train inside the engine. The best way to see if it is a valve train noise is to purchase a product called Morays Oil valve lubricant and just pour it straight into the engine.
Be sure to only put 250mls in as if you overfill the oil capacity it will cause you a bit more trouble then what you are having. But once you start up the engine the ticking sound should go away or at least be alot quieter then what it has been.
If this happens then you will need to have the valve trained looked at and you may get away with it just being adjusted, if not then you will be looking at replacing valve lifters.
