Question about 1994 Mercury Tracer
Sounds like you may have a bad starter relay, possibly shorted out..what you want to do is locate the relay, under hood on one of the inner fenders, follow the positive battery cable to find it.you should only have power from battery cable connection.pull the small red and black wire off, and test for power on that wire with key on, test while wire is fisconnected.you should only have power there when you try to start the engine.
