Tail lights dim when appling the breaks cruse goes off when turning on turning signals
Possibly the ecm or also could be a dead short in the turn signal switch

SOURCE: no tail lights
look for a blown fuse in your engine compartment fuse box. if you dont find one there then check the fuse panel in the dash under you column. it could be one of the larger feed fuses in the engine compartment fuse box so dont overlook those.

check the fuses and relays under the hood next to the battery. if they still dont work it might be in the wiring or if it has a tow package it might be in the trailer wiring

The brake light and the turn signal are the same bulb. Most of the time if the bulb on the dash stays on it is because a bulb is blown and thats the way it tells you.
