This means the control unit (airbag computer) has detected a fault, such as a failed crash sensor circuit.
Usually it is recommended you take this situation to a qualified mech (not necessarily a dealer) to fix, since it might mean the difference for you between survival or death or grievous injury. I would not mess with it.
