Question about 1994 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Blower motor doesn't run on high speed 1997 LeSabre blower runs on all speed except high. My mechanic thinks it might be the blower resistor, but I thought that made it run ONLY on high.

Blowing 50 amp high blower fuse instantly in 1997 3500HD sierra GMC.. all other speeds work except for High speed..

I would suspect a short in the blower motor. Lower speeds are through resistors, high speed is direct to the motor. Unplug the motor and try going through the speeds.

98 buick heater stop working

Its faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.

It can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.

My heater fan does not come at all on any speed

Sounds like a bad blower motor assembly, if it was only working on high speed then it would be the blower motor relay (this is a default setting so the defrosters will always be able to work, hi speed actuallly bypasses the blower motor resistor), but if you have no speeds at all then the blower motor itself is your most likely culprit. Hope this helps...

I removed my blower fan resistor from my 1992 buick lesabre and the fan started working on high speed only now won't work again could I have burned something up by running the fan without the resistor

Why did you remove the resistor for?Was the blower not working correct? Is that the same resistor? You can go to Autozone and get a resistor and install,if it doesn't fix the problem, take it back.,check power going to motor.Check fuse.

My lower fan speed don't work except for the high, the fan high speed stay highest

Hello sanjuis24
It sounds like you've got a bad blower motor resistor. The resistor is located under the right side of
the dash at the blower motor. A new resistor is not very expensive and it's a fairly easy DIY.
Hope this is helpful

Blower motor stopped working All summer i only had high speed on the fan motor and know it quite..People keep telling me it is a modual..

I think I'd try a new blower motor resistor first, as your going to need a new one anyway if it only ran in high speed. Look behind glove box, and under dash on passenger side and see where wires from blower motor are going back to. The connector where the blower motor wires attach to, is usually your blower resistor, held in with a couple of screws. If wires go through firewall, then look at back of engine area on firewall for it on passenger side. Everyone told me same thing, that the resistor will still supply power to motor, even if it's burned out, but mine quit after running on high for a while, and it was all I needed to replace to get everything working again. As I said, you'll need to replace it anyway right?

1994 Buick Lesabre blower runs on all speeds

If you are referring to the AC blower, you may want to check on the fan switch. It could be caused by bad contacts or loose connections. There is also a resistor if you would trace the wiring of the switch to the evaporator under the dash. Check if it is still intact. It may be partially be burned.

1997 isuzu rodeo problems with the blower motor and resistor how do you test them both

You can test the blower motor by connecting a positive and negetive wire directly to the 2 terminals on the motor.
As far as the resistor goes. If the blower motor only works on high fan speed then the resistor is bad. If it works on all speeds except high, then the relay is bad. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Heater blower only blows on low

This could be a few different things:

1.Check the power and ground connections on your blower motor, corrosion can cause high resistance and a slow blower speed.

2. Check your available voltage at the blower motor on the different settings. it should vary with high supplying 12volts, make sure to do this check with the blower motor still plugged in.

3. Connect the blower to a 12v power source and see if it runs at high speed.

If all else fails i would check your resistor pack, i would not suspect this because when it fails you usually just loose all speeds except for high, but it could happen.
