HOW DO I FIND PROBLEM FOR REAR LEVELING AFTER INSTALLING AIR SHOCKS AND I CAN HEAR AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP COME ON.

Either you have a pressure leak or the level sending link is bad or disconnected.

My 2000 Cadillac Eldorado the rearend was sitting up high for a year now then i walked outside yesterday and it wasn't.

This could be a few things that I know of. The rear air shocks compressor could be the problem. If the car was on a car lift with the wheels not flat on a ramp (like hanging) and the compressor was not shut off it can burn up the compressor for the ride sensing etc will try to level the ride but can't. or the thing just went bad. or maybe you have a bad fuse. or you developed a leak in the air bag inside the shock. or the air suppling tubes are loose or bad cracked??? but here is a start good luck mine are out and its costly to have fixed!!!!!! I'm looking to just put on a plain pair of air shocks and by passing the ride sensing etc..... due to cost. IDK but good luck!!

Rear end sits too low

You have worn out springs. Replace them or install air adjustable shocks.

I have an 89 Cadillac eldorado, my problem is that the rear suspension lifts up only when it wants to. In the mean time the vehicle is dropped in the rear. How can in find the level indicator or at least...

the level control is on the rear axle. If you follow the air lines from the rear shocks you will run into the air pump. On some pumps there are valve stems for manual airing of system. and alot of times there was a valve stem in trunk or under rear bumper to add air to system also

My 1999 cadillac deville air suspension not working

Check in this order: Is the compressor starting when you turn the car on? If not: is the fuse burnt, broken wires? If not: Is the linkage that connects the frame to the left rear shock broken or seized? (more wires to check here). If the compressor runs and the linkage is functional, spray some windex (or soapy solution) on the rubbers of the rear shocks and around the hoses to see if air is bubbling out. If so, this is where the problem is. Many aftermarket shocks/struts are available (check ebay) online for as little as $ 150.00 each, and $ 175.00 for the compressor.

Need new struts on rear, Would like to replace with air shocks. Any suggestions on how I would do this?

Shock Absorber -The rear already has air shocks on the 1999 Cadillac Deville: REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Rear
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Rear wheel Fig. 1: Exploded view of the rear shock absorber mounting 9300vg06.gif

    • Negative battery cable
    • Shock absorber electrical connector from the rear suspension support, If equipped
  3. Support the lower control arm with a jack to relieve the tension on the shock absorber.
  4. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Lower shock absorber mounting bolt and nut
    • Upper mounting nut, retainer, and insulator
    • Shock absorber compress by hand and remove through the upper control arm
    To install:
  5. Position the top of the shock absorber with the insulator attached into the suspension support.
  6. Install or connect the following:
    • Upper shock insulator, retainer and nut. Torque the nut to 55 ft. lbs. (74 Nm).
    • Shock absorber lower mounting nut/bolt. Torque the nut to 75 ft. lbs. (102 Nm).
    • Shock absorber electrical connector to the rear suspension support, if equipped

Electronic level control not working right in a 1999 cadillace deville, what can i do to fix it?

To begin with, check the "ride level" fuse and make sure that the ride level compressor does work, and you should be able to hear that the ride level compressor is working when the ride level system is leveling the vehicle.

The ride level system uses an air compressor and either an air type of shocks or a type of air billow to raise and lower the vehicle, there is an adjustment to set the ride height and it is located under the vehicle and there is a control lever or rod that should be connected between the rear axle and a switch that is mounted on the body of the vehicle, and there will be an adjustment slot in the control lever between the switch and the body, and that is how you would adjust the ride level height, but be sure that the vehicle can not drop any further down if someone is under the vehicle trying to adjust the ride height.

However, you might find that the control lever to the ride level has fallen off from the switch on the body or it has come loose from the rear axle, and it is just hanging there not operating the switch on the body that controls the the ride level compressor, or there might be a blown out air shock or billow, or you might find that an air line from the compressor is leaking and the ride level compressor will just run continuously until it blows out the fuse, and if that is the case you might also find out that the air compressor has burned out from running continuously.

Service ride control

rear compressor use to come on often(heard "minor" left rear air leak after stopping and shutting car off). The compressor always came on at start up. after a well loaded family camping trip, the compreesor stopped comming on. when we arrived and I unloaded the cargo, the compressor came on and raised the rear end of the vehicle after unloading the "camping stuff" the compressor came on and re-leveled the car. After trip home and unloaded, the compressor no longer comes on, although car is level and rides nice, but when people used to get in the back seats, the compressor came on and slightly raised the vehicle. I found no blown fuses. would dealer codes say bad compreesor or is there a way to check the compressor? also if I replace the shocks with ones that do not require the compressor, will I be able to ever pull a heavely load car or tow anything without dragging/sagging? any information or insight would be much appreciated... thanks in advance

Rear suspension

On the newer cadillacs, we disconnect the sensor arm to let it swing up tricking the sensor to tell the compressor to turn on. There may also be a set of aftermarket air shocks that you can use in place of with a valve you install remotely like a valve stem. Ask the parts store your options, keep in mind in this case different stores have different options, so shop around.

you might want to check your air control box under car near rear shocks, this starts the air compressor to lift or lower the air shocks
