Sounds like the shock delivered by the pothole has caused a connector or some other electrical lead to detach itself..or if it was it wet and or raining when this problem first occurred has introduced some water where it should not be.
Start by carefully inspecting the engine compartment for loose wires, connectors or for anything that looks amiss. Check for secure grounding points and (if it was wet and raining) any water that may have pooled in locations it would normally not reach.
Check you air filter and filter box for moisture and let us know how your making out.
No, but water on your distributor or plug wires can. If you're missing weather seals or splash guards you could be getting water in the engine compartment and that COULD be your problem. Wet wires cross-firing will often keep cross-firing after they dry out. It could also be a timing issue or other problem unrelated to the rain.
Try replacing the cap, rotor, and spark plug wires. When they get wet they are grounding the spark out to the motor so the spark plugs do not fire. If you have this problem in the winter because of the wet and the salt, it helps to spray the cap rotor and wires with silicon spray to repel the moisture.
its your distributer cap, have someone look at it while you crank it and ask if they see any sparks, if its crack "just from age, or whatever the case" the plugs wont fire right causen it not to start, 20 doller project an it took me one hour, if its the problem you can do it yourself.. i think that may be your prob. it was mine and my 01 diamante ls wouldnt start in the rain or cold either
